About this facility
An electronics recycling facility takes end-of-life computers, monitors, phones, televisions and other devices and recovers the metals, plastics and circuit boards inside while managing hazardous components such as lead glass, mercury lamps and lithium batteries. Some of these sites offer certified data destruction and asset disposition for businesses and institutions; residents use them to keep e-waste out of the trash, which many states prohibit. Some items are accepted free, while CRT televisions and monitors often carry a fee. Hours, fees and accepted materials vary — call ahead to confirm what is accepted, whether a fee applies and what proof of data destruction is available.
