About this facility
A textile recycling facility collects used clothing, shoes, linens and other fabrics and sorts them for reuse, export, or conversion into wiping rags, insulation and fiber. Material arrives from donation bins, thrift-store overflow, municipal drop-offs and commercial laundries. Sorters grade items by condition: wearable goods are resold or exported, damaged cotton becomes industrial rags and the remainder is shredded for fiber products. Textiles do not belong in most curbside recycling programs, where they tangle sorting equipment, so these facilities and their collection partners are the proper outlet. Hours, fees and accepted materials vary — call ahead to confirm whether the site accepts public drop-offs, what condition is required and whether wet or soiled items are refused.
